I had been teaching myself photography as a creative outlet from my personal office hell. My roommate had a camera, and I'd watch endless Youtube tutorials and bring my camera everywhere. Eventually, it went from me asking to shoot people to people asking "How much do you cost?"
From there the story begins to write itself. I was making MONEY. Not a ton, but enough that I could survive on ramen and roommates... but the FREEDOM that life would give me seemed to FAR suprass my current situation of career depression and defeat.
So at 30 I left my "reliable" jobby job and jumped into owning a wildly successful photography business. My biz was built from the ground up; everything I know was learned through trial and error. I went going MONTHS without a single shoot to being booked 18+ months in advance and making THE MOST MONEY I have EVER made in my life, at least TWICE as much as my so-called "secure" office job. I’m proof that if I can do it, you certainly can too.
